Snowdonia Weekend – October 2002

The fifteen 3000ft peaks in Wales are split into three massifs, namely the Snowdon group (3), the Glyders (5) and the Carneddau (7).

Saturday saw two groups tackle the Carneddau Massifs 3000s. One group took the minibus to Tal-y-Bont and walked from Foel Fras to Pen yr Ole Wen and my group walked from Pen yr Ole Wen to Foel Fras and back down to Tal-y-Bont then back round to Llyn Ogwen to pick up the other group. Below are some pictures from the walk.

Sunday's walks were cut short due to the high winds and torrential rain but one group made it up Y Garn and two groups took different routes up Tryfan.

All in all a very successful weekend with 8 of the 15 peaks being achieved by each explorer.
