Bath to Bristol – February 2006
"Spot the Duck" was the general idea.
Tippy (yellow) and Tabitha (smaller, luminous) walked from Bath (most of the way) to Bristol. Unfortunately, due to their own alcoholic tendencies and the Rugby England match, the walk beyond the outskirts of Bristol was rather hazy. They started at the tea-shop in the Pump Rooms, where they met the waiters and were serenaded by a string and piano trio. From here they followed the river Bristol-wards, making lots of friends as they went. They didn't like walking much, so they tried lots of other forms of transport, including a barge, a rowing boat (from the national team), a child's bike, a skateboard and a nice family's Land Rover!
Before playing "duck" on the railway (a bit like "chicken") they made friends with the bar-staff in the pub and developed a taste for beer...
