We're devotees to games in pretty much all forms (but with a tendency towards the indoor non-sports varieties). We play role-playing games, card games, boardgames, war games, dice games and even odd foreign games with wooden counters and games that we write ourselves. Although we concentrate on role-playing games, there are numerous card-gamers and even wargamers hidden away within our midst.

Last year, we managed to get hold of some more keen role-players and GMs who have been a great benefit to the society, allowing us to run even more games. Now, our aim is to expand on that again. Within this modest society, we hope you'll find a whole host of games to take part in.

Recently the site has been updated to accomodate some new sections, including a poll for what games you'd like to play (see the poll section) and a for sale section where you can grab various bargain games. The games section gives details of what games are running, some of the selection we have available, and shops to get your own from.

Every weekend in term time we book a room in the Union and then gather together to play all sorts of games. This term, you'll often find us in MR4 (4th Floor of the Students' Union, directly above the main entrance) - see the timetable section for room bookings and dates.

Sessions run from 2 pm Saturday and 2.30 pm Sunday until close. To get the most out of the time we have, we run games in 2 slots each day, an afternoon session and an evening session, stopping one and starting the next at around 6:30 pm. This means that people can switch between games with the minimum of fuss.

Over the years, the GameSoc funds have been expended on the sort of rag-tag collection of games that can only be called "varied" but does provide good entertainment value. We've got two cupboards full of such games in MR4 and you can pester kind committee members into opening them up for you to rummage around and borrow from within.
