Welcome!

Jiu Jitsu is a martial art based on a moving system of striking, locking and throwing techniques. With a strong emphasis on the use of an opponent's body weight and movement, Jiu Jitsu provides a highly effective means of
countering physical attacks from both armed and unarmed assailants.

The Bristol University Jiu Jitsu Club is one of the oldest in the Jitsu Foundation and has been training for over twenty years. Unlike many other martial arts we believe that is very important to socialise with the people you train with. Jitsu is something to do on the way to the pub.

The club has a friendly atmosphere and a great social life, so why not come along and have a go? Sessions are in the sports centre and students union, all you need is some loose clothing. If you miss a session, don't worry - you can train as much or as little as you like. The club is open to both students and non-students.

Check the mailing list section for details of how to sign up to and use both of our mailing lists! You may also want to look at (and memorize!) a short history of jitsu if you want to avoid those lovely press-ups. Don't forget to check out the socials section to see the all new (and even more embarassing) photos and quotes
