| Jitsu is an effective martial art utilising locking, striking and throwing techniques. The emphasis is on throwing or restraining your attacker, either by directing their momentum to take them off balance, or alternatively convincing your opponent to put themselves off balance (i.e. inflicting controlled, small amounts of pain using nerve points or locks). |

Jitsu is very much self defense orientated and is an excellent martial art for all sizes and both genders. A large part of Ju Jutsu is the studying of defenses against different types of weapons, such as knives, broken bottles or coshes. Here are some more pictures of jitsu in action |

If you plan to study any martial art you must accept that you probably will get the occasional bruise and if you are unlucky you might sustain an injury. Jitsu is no worse than any other martial art and is better than many. Studying Ju Jitsu should not be a violent or painful experience. |
