WOMENS WATER POLO

The Women's Water polo team is a very fun and successful team to be part of. In 2010 they won the BUCS (formally BUSA) Shield (Division 2). The team caters for all levels of player from the complete novice who wants to learn the game, to the social member and the players who have the ability and drive to play above university standard.

Coaching

The Women's Water polo team is currently coached by Greg Harper who also coaches the Bristol Central Women's Team.

Training

Their main sessions are on a Tuesday morning 7-8am and on a Thursday morning 6-7.30pm. These two hours are aimed at developing the skills and technique of Water polo and bringing players up to a standard to be able to play confidently in a match situation. There is a session on Sunday 3-4pm which is a more advanced training session to push the stronger players by playing with a local ladies team.

The team also have a land training session with an emphasis on basketball to improve ball handling skills and arm strength. These techniques developed on the land will hopefully transfer well into the water and accelerate the speed at which individuals and the team improve.
