Teaching English for Academic Purposes (TEAP)

Our TEAP courses will run again in January, April and June 2021. Depending on how the Coronavirus situation develops, these courses may run online or on campus. We will update this page with dates and details shortly. 

In 2020, the Centre for Academic Language and Development will be running several one-week intensive TEAP courses. Each course is designed for a slightly different target audience.

6 to 10 January 2020:

For teachers who would like to work towards the BALEAP TEAP Fellow or Senior Fellow.

8 to 12 June 2020:

For teachers who would like to work towards the BALEAP TEAP Fellow. CANCELLED due to Coronavirus.

8 to 12 June 2020:

For teachers who would like to work towards the BALEAP TEAP Associate Fellow. CANCELLED due to Coronavirus.

Programme structure

For both courses, the group size will be around 14-16. The scheme of work will cover a five-day week from 9 am to 5 pm. You will be required to do preparation tasks and further reading outside of these hours.

There is no teaching practice. Teaching observation will be done using a video clip. The course is not assessed, but participants will receive a certificate of completion.

Accommodation

Accommodation is not available through the University.

Cost

Each TEAP course listed for 2020 costs £400. 

We do not ask you to print or buy books for this course. We will provide you with the printed materials you need.
