What is next for you?
Congratulations on your graduation! With Bristol’s tough entrance standards and challenging programmes, it’s no surprise that its alumni are exceptional. As inventors, entrepreneurs, and innovators, Bristol graduates go on to change the world for the better, wherever they are. Now that you have graduated, you can count yourself as a member of the worldwide Bristol alumni network. There are many ways this network can help you, which we have listed here:
Keep in touch
If you update your details and provide us with your address, phone number, and email, we can:
- Invite you to networking events with fellow alumni,
- Keep you up to date with Bristol’s alumni magazine Nonesuch, monthly e-newsletters, and more,
- Put Bristol friends in touch with you if you lose contact,
- Ask for information about your career path on behalf of the Government, for the ‘Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education’ survey.
You can update your details online using your student ID as an activation code. Or simply email us at alumni-web@bristol.ac.uk with your city, mobile number and email address. You can also stay connected via our LinkedIn groups and Facebook pages.
Tell us about you
Six months after your graduation, you will be asked to complete a short ‘Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education’ survey questionnaire about your work experience and/or further study since graduation. Your achievements could inspire other alumni, current students, and others, so let us know your plans now by contacting Careers.
If you have a new job, achieved recognition for your work, or have any exciting news, please do let us know. At Bristol we want to share in your outstanding achievements and pass them on. So, please email us at alumni@bristol.ac.uk.
Fast-track your career
You can register with Bristol’s Careers Service for free up to three years after you graduate. This provides you with access to:
- Job listings targeted at Bristol graduates,
- Personal careers advice by email or in person with an adviser (at 5 Tyndall Avenue, between the Computer Centre and Sports Centre),
- Invitations to tailored alumni networking events, careers fairs and employer-led presentations - where you can meet potential employers face-to-face,
- Careers guides, employer profiles and rankings, application and interview tips, graduate aptitude tests and more,
- The Careers Network, a database of alumni across a range of industries and sectors, who will give you their advice and support,
- Bristol’s ‘Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education’ survey results from previous years’ alumni to help inspire you.

Here you can discuss careers, life at Bristol, and connect with like-minded alumni. You can ask for advice; hear about career opportunities and share your knowledge. Keep learning and explore options
Are you looking for that extra competitive edge when applying for jobs? Do you want to stand out from the crowd or gain extra skills? Bristol’s postgraduate alumni are highly attractive to employers and our employment record is among the best in the UK. Many major organisations have strong links with our Careers Service and often recruit postgraduates directly from campus.
