Bristol University's Fundraising Telethon aims to contact as many alumni as possible over the phone; to listen to what alumni have to say about their time at Bristol; to let alumni know about what has been going on at Bristol recently; and to raise money for the University to continue its teaching and research excellence. The Summer 2012-13 Telethon is coming up and we've already had had a fantastic response from our alumni with over £120,000 raised in pledges. Our Spring calling team (pictured right) really enjoyed talking to thousands of alumni over the five weeks and would like to thank everyone who took the time to chat.
Thank you to all who have supported us, your gifts will make a real difference across the University. If you haven't received a call or we have missed you this time you can still find out more about what we're raising money for by visiting our Centenary Campaign pages.
Last academic year, the University received over £140,000 from more than 2000 donors through the Telethon. This amazing support from our alumni and friends is greatly appreciated, and we would like to thank you again if you are a donor to the University of Bristol.
The first ever Bristol Telethon was run in 1994, and since then the campaigns have gone from strength to strength. It now consists of three campaigns every academic year; Autumn, Spring and Summer. Our large team consists entirely of current students, both undergrad and postgrad, who contact thousands of Bristol graduates every term.
As those who have been contacted will know, Bristol's Student Callers are a fantastic and dedicated bunch. Countless graduates have contacted us to let us know how much they have enjoyed the chance to speak with current students on the telephone and to become involved with Bristol in this way. Take a look at the alumni feedback to read some of their comments.
