This event forms part of a series of interactive events for alumni during the centenary year which will tackle some of the pressing issues of our day.

On 29 April, Angela Knight CBE (BSc 1972), Chief Executive of the British Bankers' Association, and Tim Herrington (LLB 1975), Chairman of the FSA's Regulatory Committee, discussed the global financial climate.

On 13 May, Tony Juniper (BSc 1983), former Executive Director with Friends of the Earth, and Dr Rich Pancost, Reader in Biogeochemistry, discussed a sustainable future for our planet.

On 6 October, Professor Dame Carol Black CBE DSC (BA 1962, MB ChB 1970, MD 1975, Hon DSc 2003), Chairman, Academy of Medical Royal Colleges, Bill Fullagar (BA 1961), Chairman of the NHS Blood and Transplant and David Redfern (BSc 1988), Chief Strategy Officer, GlaxoSmithKline, discussed the healthcare lottery.
