Bristol-Brussels Office, 108 Rue du Trône, 1050 Brussels

Alumni are warmly invited to Bristol City Council's Brussels office (108 Rue du Trône) on 1 March to hear about the University of Bristol’s Faculty of Engineering and their pioneering work. The next in a series of events run by the office, this half-day workshop provides a fantastic opportunity to learn about the latest digital innovations and network with alumni and friends in the city.

The Faculty of Engineering's research is world-leading. Discover how their innovations within communications and experiences of creating experimental test beds are driving concrete solutions to city challenges such as energy management and driverless cars.

At this special showcase event, you will learn first-hand from representatives about how optical networks and wireless technologies (including IoT and 5G) can create a platform for city-scale experimentation, and the application of novel network technologies and data.

The Bristol-Brussels office was founded during Bristol’s year as European Green Capital in 2015. Lieven Trappeniers (Nokia) and Zsuzsanna Bódi (ENoLL) will be among the panellists to discuss the broader challenges and opportunities of developing laboratories for urban change at the European level. We will also be joined by Clare Moody MEP, a Member of the European Parliament’s Committee on Industry, Research and Energy. Clare will give her perspective on the EU policy and funding activities, which can support such digital innovation in universities and cities.
