Singapore | Bristol Connects: career insights

Join your fellow alumni for a career expert panel and networking reception in Singapore on Saturday 28 October 2017 from 6 pm.

The evening will begin with a panel of University of Bristol alumni experts, speaking about how to make the most of your career. There will be plenty of time for you to put your questions to our panel of experts from a variety of industries and professions. Our panellists have well-established careers in Singapore so do come and meet them and learn from their expertise and experience since leaving Bristol: you’ll be able to gain insights and make connections that could help you secure your graduate career or take the next step up.

The panel event will be hosted by Dr Erik Lithander, Pro Vice-Chancellor for External Relations, and will be chaired by Veiverne Yuen (MEng Aeronautical Engineering 2005). Veiverne is highly experienced in financial services, private equity, FinTech and entrepreneurship, having recently co-founded tryb, a financial infrastructure company. He is looking forward to hearing your questions.

The panel will be made up of experienced alumni experts:

  • Anzhen Chng (LLB 2015), Associate, Baker McKenzie, can advise new graduates on successfully securing a role in today's market
  • Edwin Cheang (MEng Aeronautical Engineering 2006), has recently secured a new role at Deloitte and can advise on careers in consultancy, career progression and development
  • Sophia Davison (BSc Biology 2012), has a background in recruitment and can give the inside track on what employers look for
  • Yang Ping Oo (BSc Economics and Accounting 1996), Operations Director, Deloitte, is a UK Chartered Accountant with over 20 years' experience advising an international network of clients on assurance, risk and compliance

Further panellists are to be announced. Following the panel event, you will have the opportunity to meet more members of the Singapore alumni network and its distinguished guests. You can reconnect with old friends and take this chance to meet other alumni who can widen your professional circle in a relaxed environment over food and drinks.
