Bristol alumni are warmly welcomed to join special events celebrating the launch of The Cambridge History of Ireland in Washington DC (Tuesday 18 September), New York (Wednesday 19 September) and Boston (Thursday 20 September).

Volume I of The Cambridge History of Ireland, covering the period from 600 AD to 1550 AD is edited by Brendan Smith, Professor of Medieval History at the University of Bristol. It places the medieval Irish experience in a broader European context, and emphasises the range of political and cultural interactions that Ireland enjoyed with Britain and mainland Europe throughout the Middle Ages.
