The Vice-Chancellor paid a visit to New York on Tuesday 8 April and Washington DC on Thursday 10 April. Drinks receptions were held at both locations.

"Forty years in Exile: Return to the Promised Land"

The Leader of the Chagos Refugee Group, Olivier Bancoult, presented a lecture entitled 'Forty Years in Exile: Return to the Promised Land'. The lecture was followed by a reception in the Senior Common Room.

2008 Convocation Reunion Weekend

All alumni were invited to return to Bristol for the annual Convocation Reunion Weekend.

Wills Hall 20 Years on Reunion 1988-2008

Richard Cross (BA 1991), Richard Hudson (BDS 1992) and Saul Myerson (MB ChB 1993) organised a big reunion of those who were in Wills Hall twenty years ago in 1988 at the Wills Hall Dinner.

Eastern Canada Alumni Reunion

A weekend reunion was arranged at the delightful Brown's Bay Inn on Wolfe Island, in Lake Ontario just off Kingston.

Western Canada and US West Coast Alumni Joint Reunion in Vancouver BC

Following the success of previous joint ventures, John Weaver (BSc 1953) from the Western Canada Alumni group, and John Binsted (BA 1954) and Jane Camblin (BA 1973) from the Western US group, decided to hold a reunion weekend on Saturday 20 September 2008 in Vancouver BC.

Alumni evening, in Birmingham

22 September 2008, 7.30 pm

Alumni attened an event in Birmingham to hear Nick Paul (BSc 1966) talk about his life since Bristol days, as well as his current experiences as Chairman of Advantage West Midlands. Nick's talk was followed by a drinks reception, providing the opportunity for local graduates to meet each other. This event took place at Austin Court in Birmingham.

"What it Takes" lecture by Atlantic rower Niall McCann (BSc 2004), in Bristol

Niall McCann gave a talk about what it takes to row across the Atlantic Ocean as part of a two-man team. All alumni, staff, students and friends of the University came along to this free lecture.
