Nicholas Cork (MB 2009 -)

Proposer: Dr Nicki Cohen, Consultant Senior Lecturer in Neuropathology and Deputy Programme Director, School of Clinical Sciences.

Nicholas gained a degree in Drama from Bristol in 2008 and is now studying for MB ChB.  Bristol is known for the strength of its performing arts scene, and the breadth of Nick’s engagement here is staggering. He has directed a wide range of productions, taking several to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.  He is currently rehearsing for a charity balletic production of ‘SYMBA’ in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and Meningitis UK, where he will be playing African percussion.

Nicholas has relentlessly championed the well-being of other students and has sat on numerous committees within the medical school during studies.  He has also made significant contributions to others during his time in Hall, serving on the JCR at Goldney, raising money to assist with alleviating poverty and contributing to wildlife conservation in Africa.

He is the University of Bristol representative on the Student Members Group at the Royal Society of Medicine and ran a Global Health conference event for students across the UK with the World Health Organisation. Nicholas was the science editor for Epigram and is also a STEM ambassador mentoring schoolchildren in the Bristol area who wish to pursue a career in the sciences.
