Bristol zoology graduate Miranda Krestovnikoff (BSc 1994) will be presenting the BBC’s major new landmark series Coast, which will hit our screens at the end of July.

Coast, a 13 part series on BBC2, is a wide-ranging celebration of the unique character of Great Britain’s coastal communities, exploring both its human history and natural beauty.

Miranda, presenter of Channel 4’s Wreck Detectives, is part of a five-strong team of historical and geographical experts - each presenting in their field of expertise. During the past few months, she has been diving around the UK covering the wild-life stories for the programme, including Minke Whale watching off the Isle of Eigg, catching and tagging porbeagle sharks in Padstow and looking for leatherback turtles in north Wales.

The team also includes two Bristol University academics: Dr Alice Roberts from the Department of Anatomy and Mark Horton from the Department of Archeaology.

Coast is a 13 part series starting on July 22 2005 on BBC2 at 9.00pm.
