The University Skydiving Club is flying high thanks to a £3,000 grant from the Alumni Foundation .

The society has splashed out on a complete parachute system in consultation with advanced skydivers, and spent the change updating their old parachute system so that both can be used to their full potential. Having two systems in use has given the club’s members double the opportunity to expand their skills in the air and soar towards becoming competition standard skydivers, and some already qualified members are making the most of the state-of-the-art equipment to undertake WARP ( Worldwide Approved Relativework Progression) coaching in flying in formations.

The new equipment has also attracted more inexperienced skydivers on board, in the knowledge that they can take to the skies without spending large sums of money on kit hire.
