Pete Woodward (MEng 2005) will be undertaking a 2,000-mile cycling challenge from Bristol to Marrakech in September this year to raise money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.

Pete’s interest in cycling began at an early age and he has travelled extensively through Europe by bike. The Severn to Sahara route will see him travelling through France, the Pyrenees and Spain, across the Sahara desert and over the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco before finally reaching Marrakech. His training will involve participating in several local and national sporting events, including the March Bath Half Marathon.

Pete has close connections with his chosen charity, the RNLI, having worked as a Blackpool beach lifeguard. Regular updates on his progress will be available on the Going the Extra Mile website.
