Greg Spencer (BSc 2006) will be cycling from John O’ Groats to Land's End in May to raise money for the University of Bristol Cancer Research Fund.

Aiming to raise £1000 for the charity, Greg and two friends will cross Great Britain from northeast to southwest, resting in hostels, B&Bs and waterproof sleeping bags along the way. They aim to complete the journey within a fortnight, cycling 80 miles a day, on average.

Greg, who works in the Campaigns and Alumni Relations Office at the University of Bristol, says "I have always been a keen cyclist so, for me, riding the length of Britain is in many ways the ultimate challenge!  Cancer is something that will affect all of us either directly or indirectly during our lifetimes; I couldn't think of a more worthy cause to be fundraising towards."
