Bristol graduate Laura Bechtolsheimer (BSc 2007) has secured a dressage bronze medal for Great Britain in the individual grand prix at the European Showjumping and Dressage Championships in Windsor.

Laura posted a score of 80.08% - the highest ever grand prix score by a British rider - to become the first Briton to get an individual dressage medal in 16 years.

Speaking to the BBC, Laura said, 'I went into the arena more determined than ever.'

'It was without doubt the best test I've ever ridden and my horse gave me everything. He's a talented horse and I knew I had a chance but to actually manage it is just amazing.

'Sporting history has been made and to be part of it on home turf is very very special. I'm still a bit shaken up.'
