A Bristol drama alumna has been shortlisted from over 13,000 entries for a prestigious graduate award highlighting the next generation of future leaders.

Kaia Rose (BA 2010) has been selected as one of the ten finalists for the Media & Arts Graduate of the Year Award, hosted by The Graduate 100.

Angela Piccini, Senior Lecturer in Drama at the University, said: ‘We are thrilled that Kaia has been shortlisted for this award, which is clearly testament to the commitment, academic skills and creative talents she developed and demonstrated here at Bristol.’

Kaia said: 'I'm proud to be a Bristol graduate. During my three years in the Drama Department I was able to make films and direct and produce shows. This allowed me to hone my skills and prepared me well for the working world.'

Kaia also won the University’s John Lavendar prize this year, which is awarded to a final-year student who has contributed in a particularly significant way to theatre, film or television activity in a technical or 'off-stage/screen' capacity.

Following a successful placement, Kaia now works for World of Arthur Cox, a BAFTA-award winning production company specialising in animation. Kaia worked on their A Time Travellers' Guide to Bristol project.
