This month, we launched a bold, new strategy for the University. Thanks to support from our alumni and friends, our plans for the future have students, staff and alumni at their heart. Here’s what you had to say about what you think makes Bristol unique…

Dominic Moylett (MEng 2015) said:
‘We have world leading researchers directly explaining the work they do and are interested in us, and offer us the chance to collaborate with them on work that can change the face of the earth. We are also part of a top rate city, with significant investments in both scientific and humanitarian pursuits, a vibrant and thriving culture, and a rich history.’

Anna Hargreaves (BA 1973) said:
'An exceptional cohort of students from all over the world, some of whom have become lifelong friends.’

Sarah Pitt (BA 2014) said:
'I think Bristol is a truly academic University and that's important in an age when information comes cheap and is not necessarily evidenced.’

Emma-Victoria Farr (BA 2013) said:
'The vibrant city full of culture, music and arts co-existing happily alongside the university buzz with its student life.’

Romarani Malakar (BEd 1996) said:
'Its lecturers.
Its courses and research.
Teaching methodology.
Its library and computer centre.
Its beautiful buildings.
My experience in Bristol was very enriching and gave me a new perspective towards education and specifically to teaching. I enjoyed my time in Bristol and access to books in the library for my assignment, research and studies was excellent. It was easy to liaise with my lecturers. God bless all. Thank you Bristol. You made me who I am.’

Dr Sonia Crow (EdD 2000) said:
I chose Bristol University to undertake a Doctor of Education degree because I was attracted both by its academic status and also because it enabled me as an experienced professional in demanding full time employment, to undertake doctoral research in a flexible framework. I’m grateful not only for the challenges of the research programme but also the levels of support provided by very able and committed tutors.’
