The lead departments from the University of Bristol and the other organisations participating in the full research and development of Aquatest are listed below. Organisations that have also been involved in the Aquatest Project include: the World Health, Kinneir Dufort and Oxfam.
Through activities of the Water, Sanitation & Health Programme, The World Health Organisation (WHO) has been involved in the Aquatest project from the outset. During the first phase of the project WHO carried out a needs assessment for low-cost water testing in developing countries. WHO is currently developing guidance for the use of portable water tests including such devices as Aquatest.
A product design consultancy based in Bristol, Kinneir Dufort have had a central role in the development of the Aquatest device. They have also provided considerable assistance with user testing.
One of the first participants in Aquatest, Oxfam conducted a needs assessment of water testing in the context of disaster relief. We anticipate Oxfam to continue to play a part in the project as one of Aquatest's Early Adopters.
