Robert Vilain (Department of German) has been awarded a Library Research Grant by the Friends of the Princeton University Library, for work on a recently acquired 1828 edition of Goethe's "Faust" in French, with a full set of lithographs by Delacroix. The study has been commissioned by the editor of the Princeton Library Chronicle, which will publish the resulting article. This was an extremely competitive year for the library grant program, with over 140 applications submitted and some 25 grants made.
