Is it for me?

A typical foundation year student?

You're aged over seventeen, and come from any ethnic, education, professional or social background. You left school a long time ago…or recently, with only a few or no qualifications.  You've spent time working or bringing up family. You can't decide what to study or you think you have left it too late.

This could be the university course for you - we are looking for people who can demonstrate their potential to achieve, with the motivation to complete the course and go on to further study.

This is not a part-time course: you'll need to dedicate 25 hours each week, including two days spent in lectures, classes and studying on your own. It’s particularly aimed at local people in the Bristol-Bath area, though people from further afield are welcome to apply.

Supporting you while you study

We have a University-wide approach to supporting our students, withour wellbeing services to help you look after yourself.

From personal tutors to peer mentoring and academic skills development, find out how we can help you get the most from your studies.

The first Foundation students graduated from their degree programmes in July 2017. You can read more about their stories here:
