Charles Forsdick

 

 

Charles Forsdick is James Barrow Professor of French at the University of Liverpool. He was until recently Director of an AHRB-funded project into 'New Approaches to Twentieth-Century Travel Literature in French', and is Treasurer of the Society for Francophone Postcolonial Studies. His research focuses principally on exoticism, travel literature, postcolonial literature in French, the francophone dimensions of postcolonial theory, and the contemporary French novel. He has recently published Travel in Twentieth-Century French and Francophone Cultures (OUP, 2005), and is currently working on representations of the Haitian revolutionary Toussaint Louverture.
