Dr Paul Reynolds has been a member of the University of Bristol since 1994 and is currently working in the area of Nano and Micro Technology and Science. He is presently establishing large multidisciplinary programmes which have interactions through, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Biochemistry, Veterinary Science and Dentistry. Prior to this he set up and ran the Bristol Colloid Centre (BCC), as its Manager, at the University for 10 years, and still retains an active role in the strategic running of the Centre. In addition to the BCC he was also primarily responsible for the initial setting up a UK group working in Colloid Technology. This company, now known as IMPACT Faraday Ltd., has a major interest in e-learning. He is a Director of this company.

Paul has worked in industry for many years and had experience of several different industrial sectors. Prior to joining Bristol University he was Research Manager at Courtaulds Coatings (now International Coatings, Akzo Nobel) and had responsibility for running the Colloid & Rheology Section. Thus he has experience of paints, coatings and inks, as well as previously from the food, speciality chemicals, agrochemicals and oil field industries.

Paul has published approximately 25 papers on a variety of topics involving rheology and colloid science, as well as contributing chapters to several books.

He is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) and is a Chartered Chemist (C.Chem), a Chartered Scientist (C.Sci) and a Member of the Society of Rheology and Member of the Society of Chemical Industry.
