Welcome to the Wolfson Bioimaging Facility
Light Microscopy Unit
The Wolfson Bioimaging Facility is situated in the
Medical Sciences Building. Following funding from the Wolfson Foundation,
MRC and University of Bristol, the MRC Cell Imaging Facility (opened 1997)
has been expanded, refurbished and augmented by a new state of the art Electron
Microscopy Unit.
The primary aim of the Light Microscopy Unit is to provide high quality cell
imaging equipment for the biological and biomedical research community in
Bristol. Users receive full training in the use of confocal and other light
microscopes.
In these pages you can find information on the microscope systems we have,
links to tutorial pages for information on fluorescence microscopy, view images
collected using our systems in Bristol and find out about any new developments.
