Postgraduate training within the School of Biochemistry is predominantly research-based and covers all aspects of modern biochemistry, ranging from atomic level analyses of biological structures, including studies of the dynamics of DNA and proteins, through to the imaging of living cells and their components in whole organisms.
The School of Biochemistry takes pride in the high standard of its postgraduate training. After completing their higher degrees, over 75% of our postgraduates pursue postdoctoral research either in academia or industry, both in the UK and abroad. Others deploy their advanced training and skills in a wide range of other areas of employment.
Fully- and part-funded studentships are often available for specific research projects. Further, a wide range of research projects are available for those in receipt of their own scholarships, or interested in self-funding their studies.
