The Festival of Nature is the UK's largest free celebration of the natural world allowing enthusiasts to explore and enjoy the world around them with exhibits from the BBC Natural History Unit, the National Trust and many more. In the University of Bristol tent, our stand focusses on the human body. We have mainly aimed this stand at children, concentrating on three areas: the brain, the heart and the immune system. We have interactive activities for each such as getting the children to listen and count their own heart beat, building plasticine and pipe cleaner models as well as lots of interesting facts and images to explain how fascinating the human body is. We also plan to enthuse the public with what we do here at in the department by including a few facts from current research going on right now.
Several volunteers from the School of Biochemistry, as well as other Schools in the Faculty of Medical and Veterinary Science will be attending.
