Professor Wendy Gibson

I trained in public engagement at a 2 day workshop run by the Wellcome Trust in June 2008 and subsequently ran an educational activity based around genetics for the science exploration centre, @-Bristol, as part of their Inside DNA exhibition. For the past 2 years I have helped to run a display on Hidden Biodiversity at the annual Festival of Nature on Bristol harbourside. I contributed to a BBC Radio science series about parasites, and in 2007 acted as a consultant expert for an interactive educational CD-ROM on the subject of Human African Trypanosomiasis (HAT) produced by WHO (TDR) and the Wellcome Trust. I have presented University of Bristol sponsored public lectures on protists and evolution.
