Research areas

Coral reefs, already struggling under the burdens of overfishing, pollution, disease and direct damage, are under increasing threat from the effects of ocean acidification climate change. We strive to understand these beautiful, complex and highly important ecosystems; how they may be affected by future changes and what they can tell us about past climates. Our group reflects the interdisciplinary nature of coral reef science, combining perspectives from biology, chemistry, geology and geography.

Research themes

  • Larval dispersal densitiesModelling Reef Futures
How will warming and ocean acidification affect coral reefs in the future?
  • PlaceholderReefs and Sound
How do reef organisms use and respond to sound, and how are they affected by anthropogenic noise?
