Staff and research students within the Social Sciences and Law Faculty can make use of the meeting rooms within the Institute for meetings and research events. The rooms are not available for teaching. There are representatives in each department and school who have access to the calendar for booking. For security and safety both 2 and 3 Priory Road are accessible by swipe card AND PIN code only. An internal telephone point is provided at the main reception door at 2 Priory Road. When arranging a meeting please ensure your visitors either have swipe card access or an internal telephone number on which to contact you on arrival at the building. Phone numbers for the meeting rooms are included in the meeting room information.
All Social Sciences and Law Faculty staff and research students are permitted access to 2 Priory Road, and can have their cards encoded by Security Services at Royal Fort Lodge (no. 34 on the precinct map). Security services have a list of all staff and research students employed or enrolled in the Faculty at the beginning of the year, and will encode your card and provide you with a PIN number without requiring additional documentation. If you have joined the Faculty since the start of the academic year you will need a letter of authorisation from your head of department for Security Services to activate your card. Security Services can provide further information.
Step free access is available to the upper and lower ground floors. Visitors requiring step free access should enter the building by the main reception door on the lower ground floor and use the lift to access the upper ground floor, where the meeting rooms are situated. All rooms are clearly signed in large bold type with raised lettering and braille.
The meeting rooms are fitted with induction loop systems, utilising both ambient and lapel microphones. Please contact Adam Carter, the Faculty AV technician, if you require assistance with the induction loop system (x 89005).
