The Leverhulme Trust has awarded the University three prestigious Research Project Grants for work to be conducted in the Faculty of Science, two of which have gone to Cabot Institute members. Each award lasts for three years. The lead investigators and the projects concerned are:
Dr Alexandre Anesio (School of Geographical Sciences, Cabot Institute)
'Are viruses major ecological and evolutionary drivers of microbial community change in low-temperature habitats?'
Professor Jens Eggers (School of Mathematics)
'Geometrical description of free-surface singularities and cusp universality.'
Professor Paul Valdes (School of Geographical Sciences, Cabot Institute)
'Assessing the tropical climate over the last glacial/interglacial.'
