About Insight into Management
Enjoyable and hard work - a great way to kick-start the year feeling motivated and focussed.
Very worthwhile and eye-opening – everyone should come, really useful for applying to graduate jobs.
What?
Insight into Management is a 3-day course involving 100 students and 16 graduate managers from a variety of companies and industries. It involves a series of business games, skills training, practical exercises and discussions. The emphasis is not just on learning skills but practising them as well – all under the expert supervision of employers, professional trainers and careers advisers.
Over the 3 days you'll be working in teams towards set targets, testing your new skills, building confidence and all the time learning about graduate employment and what would suit you as a future career.
Who?
Insight into Management is aimed at current students from any subject or year who are interested in developing their skills and finding out more about the world of work and prospective employers. No experience is necessary, there is no selection process, and you don't even need to be considering a 'graduate' career – in fact it will help you consider all your options.
The event is staffed and supported by a team of skills trainers, careers advisers, and a host of senior and junior staff from a range of companies who you'll get to work with directly. Previous participating companies included: Accenture, Atkins Nuclear & Power, BT, Cancer Research UK, CHP Consulting, Civil Service Faststream, Deloitte, Detica Ltd, Ernst & Young, HSBC, IBM, JPMorgan, KPMG, McKinsey & Co, PwC, and Rolls Royce.
When?
Insight into Management is conducted over 3 days from 25th - 27th September 2012. It starts between 8.45 and 9.15 each day and runs into the early evening on all but the last day. Lunch is provided on all days and dinner on Wednesday evening as part of your course fee. Please note that there will be research and project work outside of scheduled course hours and it is recommended that you make no additional commitments during the week of Insight.
Where?
Insight into Management is being held at Clifton Hill House for all 3 days.
Really surpassed my expectations – never imagined it would be so much fun!
