Rights and Responsibilities

Employers have a legal obligation to ensure a safe and healthy workplace. As an employee, you have rights and responsibilities for your own wellbeing and for that of your colleagues.

Employers' liability insurance

Most employers are required to insure against liability for injury or disease to their employees during employment. Employers must display a Certificate of Employer's Liability Insurance. The only exception to this legislation is when compensation would be paid from public funds (for example, most public sector organisations).
