- Mountbatten Internship Programme - one year internships in New York
- J1 Visa Exchange Visitor Program website provides details of the US J-1 visas issued to students/graduates for summer work/internships in the USA.
- Istplus - trainee programmes of up to 18 months for students and recent graduates seeking work related to their studies and/or professional experience (you find your own job). Sponsors application for J-1 visa. Similar 'Work & travel USA programme' for up to four months in the summer (students in mid-course are eligible).

- American Universities - alphabetical List
- Worldwide Universities Network - Bristol research students in certain fields can apply for funded exchanges of up to six months with a member USA university
- Grantsnet - funds for training in the biomedical sciences at postgrad, postdoc and junior faculty level. Fairly wide range including bioinformatics, zoology. Also undergraduate science education.
