'Bristol PLuS Award - Sport' is the standard Bristol PLuS Award but with a slant towards sporting activities.

2. A minimum of 4 workshops (to include 1 related to interview skills and 1 related to job-market awareness)
3. An Intensive Skills Activity - sport related
4. 300 word Report
Please read on for full details.
1. 50 HOURS WORK/LIFE EXPERIENCE
50 hours of work/life experience are needed to complete the award.
At least 25 out of the 50 hours experience must be in a sports-related role or environment
This can seem a lot to start with, but most students find that things they are already doing can be counted. The 50 hours can also be spread over your entire time studying at Bristol, and can be formed from a number of different activities.
Helping to organise sports activities, over time or as a one-off
Paid work
Internships or placements
Taking coaching sessions/coaching a team
Officiating matches (referee, umpire, etc.)
Organising club events/competitions
Volunteering at a Varsity event
Community sports volunteering
Helping with school events
Almost any type of volunteering
Caring responsibilities
You can take part in a very wide range of activity and build up the hours slowly over time, or go for a more intensive, short-term commitment that fits in around your studying.
Experience cannot be something you are required to do as part of your studies, eg a year placement in industry/overseas.
You will need to provide the contact details of a referee who can confirm what you have done. They will be contacted once you have submitted your evidence for the award.
Case study: The Community Sports Leadership Award (CSLA)
This is just one example that would complete almost the entire requirements for the Bristol Plus Award - Sport. The CSLA is a short coaching/leadership course aimed at working with children and young people. This course is run at Bristol by the Sport, Exercise and Health team. It would cover the full 50 hours, as well as some of the other criteria for the award, for example the Intensive Skills Activity (see below). For further information on this and other opportunities, see our webpage:http://www.bristol.ac.uk/sport/development/ccv/volunteering/sportsleader/
2. CAREER LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT
You need to attend a minimum of 4 workshops.
At least one workshop must be on interview skills.

Please note that workshops must be at least 30 minutes long and must not be credit-bearing (i.e. part of your degree).
You can check to see what the University offers at the following weblinks:
During an intenstive skills activity you will have:
have been involved in a sports-related activity
gained employability-related skills e.g. teamwork, communication.
participated in an interactive manner (i.e. not all passive listening)
participated for a minimum of 7 hours
reviewed the skills you have gained from the activity/event e.g. report, review meeting, presentation.

4. REPORT
300 words
We ask you to look back on and review the experiences you are giving as evidence for the Bristol PLuS Award and what you feel you have learnt from them. Reflection is a transferable skill required by employers. You will undoubtedly have to reflect on your experiences when applying for internships and graduate jobs. It is also encouraged through appraisal schemes and through professional development courses.
