- Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) - organises schemes combining postgraduate study with jobs in industry/research and technology organisations.

- Research Assessment Exercise of the Joint Funding Councils of the UK - check out the research ratings for university departments nationwide. Top rating is 5*. Last assessed in 2001. A new review is soon to be underway.
- Subject Review and Quality Assessment Reports from the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education. Check out the teaching quality ratings for university departments nationwide.
- Vocational course surveys - useful material on UK courses in 25 vocational subjects produced by the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS).
- Professional bodies usually list approved courses for their area of work.
- If job prospects are important don't be afraid to ask providers exactly what their graduates did. Good vocational courses are proud of their record and often publish a destination list.
- National Postgraduate Committee - info from the representative body for UK postgrads.

- UCAS - undergraduate course search, plus all you need to know about applying. Links to further education and short courses too.
- European Computer Driving Licence - increasing used as part of IT skills development programmes. The site has a full syllabus, list of test centres, sample questions and lots of other useful stuff.
