The following resources are useful when researching a wide range of countries in the African region.
- Financial Times international business insight for Middle East and Africa provides overviews of the business markets in these regions.
- The University of Strathclyde's Graduate Jobsearch database has general African job search information and some country specific sections.
- The Careers Group London's International Jobonline has international vacancies.
- Search the Careers Tagged database from The Careers Group, University of London for online resources for a range of African countries.
- Search African newspapers for job vacancies and current awareness.
- Africa Recruit is aimed at mobilising skills and strengthening human resource capacity in Africa. It hosts Find a Job in Africa which is a jobs database, searchable by country and job sector. Some work experience generally required.
- Careers in Africa - a recruitment service for graduates who are African nationals who organise a recruitment event in London each year.
- Michael Page Africa - dedicated to the recruitment of managers and senior executives on the African continent.
- British embassies in Africa could be a source of information. The African countries' Embassy/Consultate/High Commission in the UK may have details of trade links, media sources, associations and professional bodies.
- The Chambers of Commerce can also offer potential leads of companies that could have vacancies or could be approached speculatively. The British Chambers of Commerce website lists international chambers of commerce both based in the UK and internationally. International trade associations are another source of potential employers.
- The UK Trade & Investment government department may have details of links between the UK and other countries.
- Browse the Kompass Online Directory, a business to business directory. You can search by type of business and country/continent.
- UK government Department for International Development has a project search including many in Africa. There is also a page Where we work which has African sections.
- Directory of Development Organisations has downloadable guides to many African countries.
- Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) works in many African countries.
- International Association of Universities has a list of member institutions in many African countries. It might be worth looking for Careers Services webpages for these universities. They may have details of vacancies locally or suggestions of how to find work.
- Scholarships Board contains details of international scholarships. It can be browsed by country (with an African section) and field of study.
- Legal500 has some African countries with listings of law firms.
- Infobel has some African telephone directories (including Yellow Pages) that could be searched by location and type of employer.
- MBendi is a South African based website which has extensive listings of companies and organisations in Africa. It also has information about economic growth and industries.
Country specific information

Ghana
- Graduate Prospects has a country profile for Ghana with sections on the job market; applying for jobs; vacancy sources; visas and immigration advice and postgraduate study.
- Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is a group of fifteen countries in West Africa working to promote economic integration.

- There are a number of Ghanaian universities in the Association of Commonwealth Universities.

- Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce - has a searchable database of members.

South Africa
