Regional information
The following resources are useful when researching a wide range of countries in the Latin American region.
- Going Global has country profiles on a number of Latin American countries: Argentina; Brazil; Costa Rica; Guatemala; Mexico; Nicaragua; Panama; Peru. It also has employer directories for all of these countries plus Chile.
- Financial Times international business insight for Latin America provides an overview of the business markets in these regions.
- The University of Strathclyde's Graduate Jobsearch database has general South American job search information.
- The Careers Group London's International Jobonline has international vacancies.
- Search the Careers Tagged database from The Careers Group, University of London for online resources for many Latin American countries.
- British embassies in South America could be a source of information. The Latin American countries' Embassy/Consultate/High Commission in the UK may have details of trade links, media sources, associations and professional bodies.
- The Chambers of Commerce can also offer potential leads of companies that could have vacancies or could be approached speculatively. The British Chambers of Commerce website lists international chambers of commerce both based in the UK and internationally. There is a specific list of British Chambers of Commerce in Latin America. International trade associations are another source of potential employers.
- The UK Trade & Investment government department may have details of links between the UK and other countries.
- Browse the Kompass Online Directory, a business to business directory. You can search by type of business and country/continent.
- UK government Department for International Development has a project search including some in Latin America. There is also a page Where we work which has a section on Brazil.
- Directory of Development Organisations has downloadable guides to many Latin American & Caribbean countries.
- Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) works in some Latin American countries.
- International Association of Universities has a list of member institutions in many Latin American and Caribbean countries. It might be worth looking for Careers Services webpages for these universities. They may have details of vacancies locally or suggestions of how to find work.
- Latin America Yellow Pages - has country guides and a directory of employers searchable by sector and location.
- Legal500 has some Latin American countries with listings of law firms.
- Infobel has some Latin American telephone directories that could be searched by location and type of employer.
- MBendi is a website which has extensive listings of companies and organisations in South America. It also has information about economic growth and industries.
- Latin American Network Information Center - LANIC - Gateway to many Latin American sites, arranged by subject, including business and education links, language courses etc.
- Electronic Network for Latin American Careers and Employment - ENLACE - job and internship site for Latin America.
Country specific information
The following countries have been chosen on the basis of international student numbers at the University of Bristol and/or countries known to be of interest to University of Bristol students and graduates.
Argentina
- Going Global has a profile for Argentina which includes job hunting resources, government employment resources, industry specific information such as professional organizations and networking groups, CV/application guidelines, and interviewing and cultural advice.
- The Careers Group London's International Jobonline has international vacancies.
- The British Argentine Chamber of Commerce could provide details of companies.
- Directory of Development Organisations - Argentina.
- Bumeran - companies from all over Latin America post vacancies and job seekers can post resumes free of charge. This is the Argentinian version (Spanish).
- Zona Jobs - the online job listing for the newspaper La Nación. Jobs can be searched by keyword, industry and location. There is also an online CV/résumé posting service (Spanish).
- Sunday editions of Clarin and La Nación newspapers are the main publications used for identifying a job opportunity. Online newspapers are available via The Paperboy.com.
Brazil
- Graduate Prospects has a country profile for Brazil with sections on the job market; applying for jobs; vacancy sources; visas and immigration advice and postgraduate study.
- Going Global has a profile for Brazil which includes job hunting resources, government employment resources, industry specific information such as professional organizations and networking groups, CV/application guidelines, and interviewing and cultural advice.
- Directory of Development Organisations - Brazil.
- Starting your career in Brazil - NASES guide for international students. Includes key facts about current trends and jobs, advice about seeking employment, hints and tips for making a successful application, and helpful information sources. Also contains a CV/resume.
- The Careers Group London's International Jobonline has international vacancies.
- British Chamber of Commerce: Brazil could provide details of British companies working in Brazil.
- SINE the National Employment System (Sistema Nacional de Empregos), runs employment offices all over the country. SINE’s website contains information about companies and job opportunities. (Portuguese and Spanish)
- Banco Nacional de Empregos online versions of job advertisements published in newspapers are on the website of the National Jobs Bank (Banco Nacional de Empregos). (Portuguese)
- Bumeran - companies from all over Latin America post vacancies and job seekers can post resumes free of charge. This is the Brazilian version (Portuguese and Spanish).
Mexico

- Portal del Empleo is the official website of the Mexican federal government. It offers full, part-time and temporary opportunities within Mexico. It also has information about job fairs and careers events supported by the Ministry of Employment and Job Security of Mexico.

- Bumeran - companies from all over Latin American post vacancies and job seekers can post resumes free of charge. This is the Mexican version. There is also a Mexican executive website.
