Profile
On retiring from the University of Bristol in 2008, Tim took up a Chair at the University of Gloucestershire where he is helping to develop the University’s international teaching activities.
Tim was one of the small group who founded CEAS and was an active member of the Management Team in his role as Director of Studies. He was also Director of Academic Development in the Graduate School of Education where he was responsible for the link with City University of Hong Kong where he ran Bristol Doctoral and Master’s programmes for many years.
His work for CEAS has drawn on his experience of developing a range of innovatory postgraduate teaching programmes including the design of the first new form of doctorate in the UK since the PhD came to England in the early years of the last century. He has also researched doctoral-level supervision and designed degree programmes specifically for specialised client groups in Malaysia, Argentina, Oman and Taiwan.
