About the campaign

With your help, Bristol’s people will shape the future

In 2009 Bristol University celebrated the hundredth anniversary of the granting of its Royal Charter. In celebration of this key milestone, the University launched the Centenary Campaign to raise funds that will ensure Bristol enters its second century stronger and more successful than ever before.

It is the University’s most ambitious initiative to date and, with a target of £100 million, its impact will be transformational.

The Centenary Campaign board, including Professor Eric Thomas, Bristol’s Vice-Chancellor (read the VC’s comments on the Campaign) provide the Centenary Campaign with the strong and enthusiastic leadership needed to succeed.

The opportunities

The Centenary Campaign opportunities have been selected to secure and build on Bristol’s strengths, ensuring that the spirit of innovation and enterprise that has driven our first hundred years will continue throughout our next century.

The result of a year-long consultation with staff, students and supporters, they are refreshingly diverse in their scope and size. This website outlines each of the identified opportunities, grouped into three key areas: Students, Research and Community.
