PhDs in the key research areas of stem cells, heart disease and climate change have recently been funded by donations from Bristol alumni and friends. The impact of this research could be huge, helping to find solutions to some of the most pressing issues of our time.
The donations come at a crucial time: the future of Higher Education funding is being hotly debated and its future is uncertain. With the possibility of cuts in research funding, these donations highlight the powerful role philanthropy can play in enabling critical life-changing research across the University to take place.
With gifts made to the Centenary Campaign and the continued support of alumni and friends, Bristol plans to drive forward research across the University that will have a global impact.
