In 2011/12, the University received more gifts than in any previous year. Over 7,200 generous individuals, companies, and charitable foundations gave more than £6.2 million to Bristol. As a result of this phenomenal level of investment, philanthropic support is now one of Bristol's top income streams. To honour the generosity and lasting impact of Centenary Campaign donors, Bristol has created a number of opportunities for public recognition:
All donors of £100,000 or more over the life of the Campaign (the Campaign ends on 31 December 2014) will be recognised on a plaque permanently displayed in the Wills Memorial Building, commemorating Bristol’s Centenary Campaign.
Additional plaques recognising significant donors to individual Campaign projects will be erected in places relevant to each project. Further information may be found in the published details of individual projects.
Each year, Bristol University recognises all individual donors of £1,000 or more as Bristol Pioneers. Learn more about the Bristol Pioneers.
Launched in 2009, Bristol University is honouring all individual donors who have made gifts in each of the previous three academic years by placing a bookplate bearing their name in a library book. Learn more about how Bristol is honouring committed donors.
Cumulative giving at Bristol has for many years been recognised by inviting donors to sign formal rolls of benefactors, as follows:
We intend to keep donors updated regarding our projects, primarily via this website.
Donors contributing significant gifts will be invited to meet key people, and to stay in touch with project teams personally.
