Changing Perspectives: connecting art and science

Changing Perspectives is an exciting series of events that explores the relationships between art and science. Through exhibitions, talks, workshops and performances, we want to explore how art can draw different disciplines together, open up discussions about contemporary issues and spark new insights for all.
Staff and students at the University of Bristol have long pursued science-art conversations and collaborations as a way to open up new ways of thinking about their work. The results of those collaborations are often exciting, authentic and moving pieces of art. By sharing that work and those conversations with the public, we want to see what new ideas might emerge.
The work showcased here is only a fraction of what is underway, and we look forward to seeing the collection grow throughout and beyond the 2011 series. As part of Changing Perspectives we hope to foster ongoing collaboration between artists and scientists, and between their groups and organisations.
Changing Perspectives is organised by the Centre for Public Engagement at the University of Bristol, with the support and contributions of many students, academics and artists from within and outside the University.
