Press release issued: 3 March 2017

Dear everyone,

We hope this email finds you well and that the term is going well for you! Spring seems to be on its way, which will make everything nicer!
We have a few news and reminders we wanted to let you know about.

Ash Wednesday Reflection: Wednesday 1st March (2-2.30pm) at the MFC
The first day of the Christian season of Lent is traditionally called Ash Wednesday. It marks the beginning of a season focused on our priorities, our relationships with one another and with God.
Everyone is welcome to a short time of reflection to mark the beginning of the Christian season of Lent, with poetry,  prayers and an opportunity to receive the mark of the cross with ash. This will be held in the Quiet Room at the Multifaith Chaplaincy Centre on Wednesday 1st March 2017, 2 - 2.30pm (immediately after ‘Shared Silence’).

Exploring Benedictine Spirituality: Chaplaincy Retreat for students at Worth Abbey, March 17th-19th

Spend a weekend in the beautiful surroundings of Worth Abbey, a Roman Catholic Benedictine community near Crawley, West Sussex. The retreat will be shared with the Chaplaincy Team and students from Reading University and Royal Holloway University. The atmosphere is very relaxed and suitable for any student, whether you have been on retreat before or not. We will be reflecting on some key elements of the Benedictine tradition within Christian spirituality, such as a rule of life, ways of praying with scripture and living as a community.
We will travel from Bristol on the afternoon of Friday 17th March, and return on the afternoon Sunday 19th March. The cost will be £65 to include transport and catered accommodation in St Bruno’s, the main guest house. If finances are an issue, please let us know as some help might be available.
Places are limited, so if you are interested, please get in touch with Mike Peat (Free Church Chaplain) at by the end of Wednesday 1st March

We would also like to remind you of our annual events coming up soon!
