MSci Chemistry with Study in Continental Europe

You will take one of the following language units in your first year. You will be able to choose a unit appropriate for your level of experience with the language.

You will take one of the following language units in your second year. These units give specific skills relevant to studying science in a foreign language in your year away from Bristol. The intermediate level units are designed for students who took beginners level units in their first-year of study; all other students will take the advanced level units.


The following sample timetable shows the typical contact hours for a first year student taking Spanish as their language option. Please note that the times of classes shown are for illustration only and will definitely be different for a given individual!

The third year of your course you be carried out at a European university. You will study a variety of courses at your placement institution alongside distance learning material delivered through the Bristol ChemLabS Dynamic Laboratory Manual. A wide choice of universities is available including the following destinations where we have recently placed students:

  • Transfer to the Chemistry with Industrial Experience programme is not normally possible after the first term in the first year.
