Professor Julian Eastoe wins ECIS-Solvay Prize

Congratulations to Professor Julian Eastoe who has been awarded the ECIS-Solvay Prize which was announced at the recent 29th Conference of the European Colloid and Interface Society (ECIS) in Bordeaux
Julian’s Award is for ‘original scientific work of outstanding quality published in the previous five years’. Two topics were noted: (1) for the usage of CO2 as a solvent to develop new applications in the formulation of surfactants, emulsions, co-surfactants and hydrotropes, and (2) in the formulation of new magnetic surfactants and their application in several research areas including emulsions, graphene and DNA manipulation where tunable nanomagnets are important.
