School of Chemistry students head to China

19 November 2015

12 students from the Centre for Doctoral Training in Chemical Synthesis have just completed a very successful trip to Shanghai, China.

The students attended the Tetrahedron Asia conference last week, where they presented posters of their research. This week they have been involved in student symposia at three different Universities, organised by Dr Emma Rose. The symposia were held at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry and Zhejiang University (in Hangzhou).

The aim of the symposia was to allow the students to share and discuss their research with postgraduate students in China, and each day consisted of the Bristol students giving short talks on their research as well as hearing talks from some of the Chinese students. Each day culminated in a shared dinner where further networking and sharing of ideas could take place.
